Karaoke Ring of Death – Let’s duet!

The time has come for another round of #KROD, and this month, we’re singing duets! I’m hosting Sandy (of Just Sandy fame), who is singing along with a good friend. They do an excellent job with their rendition of “Amazing Love” by The Newsboys. And don’t they seem like so much fun? I love the giggles.

If you’d like to see me making an ass out of myself (as is standard with KROD), you can visit me at the lovely Jes’ blog, Jes Getting Started. I’m singing the Barenaked Ladies’ “If I Had a Million Dollars.” There’s a surprise to the “duet” part of it, though. Meet my… twin? You’ll see. I clearly have mad video editing skills.

For the master list of participating bloggers, head over to the KROD blog. If you’re also a blogger and would like to join in on the fun next month, make sure you subscribe and participate in the next theme voting!

Now, here’s Sandy:

The return to the ring of death

Karaoke Ring of Death, that is.

If you’ve kept up with my blog at all, you might remember my involvement last year with a crazy group of people who, for some reason, enjoyed posting videos of themselves singing on the Internet. I have decided to return to that group and participate once again. Turns out I missed browsing YouTube for instrumental versions of songs and singing along like the really cool person I am.

This month’s theme is “legends.” As in the undeniable legends of any genre we choose. This month, I host the lovely Kanriah of One Red Wall, who is singing Reba McEntire’s “Bobby.” If you’d like to see my rendition of Buddy Holly’s “Everyday,” you can head over to Heather’s blog Musings of a Girl. (The video isn’t up yet, but you can check back. My fat dog makes an appearance that makes up for my man voice, maybe.)

For the master list of videos, head to the official Karaoke Ring of Death blog.

Enjoy Kanriah!

Karaoke in the style of one-hit wonders

It’s been a little while since I participated in the KROD (that’s Karaoke Ring of Death), but I’m glad to be back after a couple of months. This month’s theme was one-hit wonders, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to participate in such awesomeness. I’m hosting K. Syrah from Shoes Never Worn. I must admit, I’d never checked out K’s blog before, but just reading her “about” section has me intrigued. She’s grown up all over the world, plus, she’s a writer. I like her already. She’s singing Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be” with a little live guitar, and her rendition makes me like her even more. You’ll have to see for yourself, but between her soothing voice, clever editing skills and the funny ending, you’ll definitely want to check out her blog.

If you want to watch my video, be warned: it is absolutely nothing like K’s video. It’s loud and shrieky for sure, but with the unrehearsed help of my two little sisters (and confused-as-hell Jack Russell terriers), it was a good time. I’m singing “Lovefool” by the Cardigans, and I’ve decided the three of us are going to start touring as the Tardigans. You can check that out at TJ’s blog, My Life in Southern California.

And make sure you visit the master list of video’s at Sara’s blog, Sara Swears a Lot.

Without further ado– K. Syrah!
