  1. Love this! So very true, especially in our industry. Web design is never simple, especially when clients get involved!

  2. This is great, and I think it can be more broadly applied to creative professions in general. I think a lot of the time creative jobs are undervalued, and seen as useless or easy or both – which is obviously untrue!

You are talented and your work should absolutely be respected!

  3. That’s a really great analogy. I never thought about it, but I guess fruit is a good catch-all example for just about anything in life. Hmmm…

It’s a shame creative professions run into such roadblocks when it comes to having time and skills valued just as much as those in other fields.

  4. Lauren Michelle says:

That is such a great way to look at it! Except now, I’d really like to have myself an apple. Preferably Royal Gala.

  5. What a perfect analogy! I’m so envious of your double-threat talents of both web design and writing. Great post!

  6. I would appreciate anything that Diana churns out, because she is just that talented.

I also wish every client was presented with this wonderful apple story before they asked for a price quote from a designer. I really feel for you guys sometimes. Dealing with people is never easy and always stressful, and I fear that webdesigners get dealt the short end of the stick almost every time because clients for some reason really do believe ANYONE can design, which we all know is a crock of shit.

Hugs all around for you guys!

  7. I love this! It really puts things into perspective. It’s true that we should respect anyone who is offering a service that we need and ask for, and it couldn’t have been put more perfectly than this.
