  1. Alexandra Franzen says:

    WORD.

As a wise therapist once told me, “Be gentle with yourself.”

Good advice for the whole planet.

  2. Can’t help making my comment seem like spam. But well written, great post!

  3. Two cupcakes. DEFINITELY eat two cupcakes.

  4. I am my own worst critic and sometimes I forget that I don’t have to be so hard on myself. I do need to break that habit and learn to be more gentle and forgiving. And of course I also have to keep in mind that just because there are horrible people out there that do horrible things, they’re not the majority.

  5. Amen, sister. I debated if I should talk about this too, but decided against it. I really like your spin on it… My only adjustment would be to be easy on yourself and others as often as possible, and not just this week. And yes to the cupcakes and puppies. You can never have too much of those.

It really is so sad that awful things are happening around the world… while it is painful to watch on the nightly news (which I stopped watching after I got out of the broadcast industry), it really does put suffering into perspective. It’s horrendous, the things that happen, but man… I just wish it would all stop.
